Samsung just launched its Galaxy On6 smartphones on 2 July. While the device is called the Galaxy On6, it is easy to tell that the new smartphone is simply a re-branded Galaxy J6, but for online sales. The smartphone is specifically targeted at youth with thin bezels, an 18.5:9 display, and a selfie camera that has an LED flash. The new Samsung Galaxy On6 smartphone competes against the popular Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, and the top-end Realme 1 variant.

The Samsung Galaxy On6 is priced at Rs 14,490 and will be exclusively sold on Flipkart starting from 5 July.Customers purchasing the Galaxy On6 can avail a bunch of launch offers, including a complete mobile protection plan at Rs. 49, no cost EMI options starting at Rs. 1,610, and exchange offers. Additionally, customers with a Jio connection are entitled to receive a cashback worth Rs. 2,750 in their MyJio account on recharging with Rs. 198 and Rs. 299 packs. They would also receive a Double Data benefit on the first four recharges of Rs. 198 and above.

Top 5 Features

  1. The Samsung Galaxy On6 is only the second Galaxy smartphone with an Infinity Display that the company has priced under the Rs.15,000 mark in the Indian market. Samsung Galaxy On6 sports a 5.6-inch sized Super AMOLED Infinity Display with 720 x 1480 HD+ resolution and an 18.5:9 aspect ratio with a layer of 2.5D curved glass on top. If you love Super AMOLED displays and hated the thick bezels on previous budget Galaxy handsets, the Galaxy On6 should impress you.
  2. The Galaxy On6 comes with a dedicated microSD card slot along with Dual SIM slots. This means you will be able to expand the storage further without having to choose between a second SIM card and more storage. While some budget smartphones available in this price range do include a microSD card slot, others do not. So if you are someone who actively uses two SIM cards and simply cannot manage with 64GB of internal storage, the dedicated microSD card slot could be one of the reasons to go with the Galaxy On6.
  3. Another impressive feature of the new Samsung Galaxy On6 is support for Face Unlock. While not a truly unique feature, Face Unlock is a convenient method of unlocking your smartphone almost instantly by just holding it in front of your face. On the downside, however, Face Unlock on most smartphones isn’t very secure. Thankfully, Samsung has also included a fingerprint sensor at the back of the handset. If you aren’t too sure about using the Face Unlock feature, you just use the fingerprint sensor to securely unlock the Galaxy On6 each time.

  4. Samsung’s latest budget Android smartphone is equipped with an 8MP selfie camera on the front with an f/1.9 aperture and an LED flash. It also offers a few other features like Beauty Mode to enhance your selfies and Selfie Focus.
  5. The Galaxy On6 comes with the Chat Over Video feature, which basically lets you watch videos while being able to chat with your friends at the same time on messaging apps like WhatsApp. On the software front, the handset runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung’s custom UI on top.
Other Specifications

The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 SoC that is clocked at 1.6GHz, coupled with Mali T830 MP1 GPU and 4GB of RAM. For capturing images and recording videos, there is a 13-megapixel camera sensor at the back that comes with an LED flash and supports features such as Animated GIF, Beauty Face, Best Photo, Face Detection, Food, HDR, Panorama, and Sports. There is also an 8-megapixel camera sensor available at the front with an LED flash. Both the rear and front camera sensors are paired with an f/1.9 aperture lens. Also, the front camera enables a Face Unlock feature.
