Idea Cellular will launch 4G services in another nine circles in 2016-17 to reach the target of 20 circles - giving the company pan-India wireless broadband network, a company statement said here on Wednesday.
"Idea's 4G footprint, by the end of this year, will cover our key 20 circles contributing 94% of the company revenue and 90 percent of industry revenue," said Himanshu Kapania, Managing Director, Idea Cellular.
The company has also planned nearly 57,000 additional sites this year to enable the launch of 4G in nine circles and expand wireless broadband footprint on a pan-India level.
To support the rapid rollout of network, Idea has planned a capital expenditure of Rs. 7,500 to 8,000 crores. Additionally, the company spent Rs. 13,000 crores to acquire spectrum in the recent auction, the statement added.
