The much hyped e-mail service by Facebook is here. The option to upgrade your current “Messages” system on FB to the new mail service is currently available to a few users. The criteria of offering the option is unknown.
The mail service lets you mail to any other e-mail id from user@facebook.com. Attachments and sending as Text messages are also allowed. Here are a few screenshots. Mail ids have been made unreadable for privacy sake.
